1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Present, you agree to be bound by this Agreement and any applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with these terms, you are not authorized to access or use the Service. This Agreement applies to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Present provides tools that allow event creators to host events and enable participants to check in using QR codes, GPS-based verification, and/or shared access links. The Service includes event creation, real-time check-in dashboards, attendance tracking, custom questions for check-ins, and analytics features.

The Service is designed to be lightweight and account-optional for participants. Present is not responsible for the content or accuracy of the events or check-in data collected by users.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to use Present only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of or restrict the use of the Service by others.

As a user, you agree to:

- Refrain from using the Service for harassment, impersonation, spamming, or distribution of harmful content

- Ensure any information submitted during check-in or event creation is accurate and non-misleading

- Not attempt to bypass location verification or manipulate attendance records

If you are an event creator, you are responsible for the events you create, the data you collect, and ensuring compliance with local regulations, including data privacy laws as applicable.

4. Accounts and Identity

Present allows participants to check in without creating an account. However, certain features, such as saving check-in history, managing recurring events, or exporting data, may require users to log in or authenticate their identity.

Event creators may choose to enable identity requirements, including:

- Email verification

- Name and organization collection

- Magic link login for secure, accountless authentication

We may store session data using cookies or local storage to streamline repeat check-ins.

5. Privacy Policy

We Collect:

For Event Creators:

- Email address

- Device metadata (e.g., browser type, IP address)

- Event titles, time, location data

For Attendees:

- Name (optional)

- Emoji or mood selection

- Freeform responses to check-in questions

- Timestamp and GPS location (if enabled)

- Browser/device identifiers (for local memory only)

How We Use It:

- To deliver check-in and attendance tracking functionality

- To generate analytics and insights for event creators

- To improve the quality and reliability of our Service

What We Don’t Do:

- We do not sell your data to third parties

- We do not use personal data for third-party advertising

- We do not track users across other websites

Data may be shared only:

- With law enforcement if legally required

- With service providers acting on our behalf (e.g. database hosting)

6. Data Retention

Event data is stored until deleted by the event creator or after a maximum period of inactivity (e.g., 12 months). Anonymous check-ins (those not linked to any identifiable account or verified name) may be purged after 90 days.

Users may request deletion of their data by contacting support@impresent.io.

7. Security

We use SSL encryption and reputable third-party providers (e.g., Supabase) to store data securely. Despite our efforts, no security system is impenetrable. You use the Service at your own risk, and we encourage you to take steps to protect your own data (e.g., not reusing passwords).

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Present at any time, without notice, if:

- You violate this Agreement

- You misuse the Service or submit harmful content

- It is required for security, legal, or compliance purposes

Users may also stop using the Service at any time. Data associated with your usage may remain stored unless explicitly deleted.

9. Changes to This Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time to reflect changes in our Service or applicable law. When changes are significant, we will notify you via the Service or the email address associated with your account (if available).

Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
